I overhear the staff talking about how terrible the facility is and how much is messed up by the DOCTOR WHO RUNS THE PLACE!!
There are 2 doctor's worth even talking to and who knows how long they will stay here as my dogs past 2 doctors have left.
I use to love this hospital and its staff they have fantastic doctors who treated all my pets with care and responsibility. Today was the first time I wanted to take my dog and run. Not only was the morning staff rude on the phone but the doctor, who I now know to be the owner of the hospital, David Aul, made me feel so uncomfortable. I was there the day before and met with Chris Lin and he was spectacular. He really cared about my dogs well being. There is a tumor on my dogs chest. It's most likely harmless but Dr. Lin suggested a Biopsy to make sure because depending on the results would depend on what sort of surgery to have. Then I met Dr Aul. He came in and decided it's fine. I explained it causes him pain and he then said we should just remove it and testing would be pointless because he can "tell" based on looking I guess. I found that shocking and the sign of a Lazy Veterinarian who would rather assume then take the extra steps to ensure my dogs well being. He had zero bedside manor and made me feel like a customer. Not a patient. I have been bringing my pets here for almost 10 years now. I will now have to decide if I wish to continue and just make sure to never see the owner or change all together. I love so many of the other doctors. That's why I couldn't give this a 1 star. But I never want David Aul near my pets again and I'm appalled by the way we were treated.
We had to put down our cat of 15 years as he was sick and it was his time. After they put him down , we were in the room at the time, they left us to be with him but failed to tell us he would gasp. I ran out of the room freaked out as we thought he was gone. Ran down the halls trying to find someone. When I did they got the Dr., she said "Oh yeah, I foegot to tell you that can happen. It was traumatic.
I agree with the other reviewers...outrageously expensive and not necessarily worth the money. I've been bringing my dog here for 3 years now and have received at least 4 different diagnoses of his 'condition', depending on which vet he sees. Very frustrating. Each vet has conducted extensive (unrelated) tests...at astronomical cost. Would not recommend to anyone looking for reliable health care for their pet.
We have also seen Dr. Haas and Dr. Park and they are also spectacular.
I will keep going to Care because the quality of their vets is top notch.
Since then, I've adopted another dog and she's been usually seeing Dr. McReynolds. She's another standout vet and I'm grateful to have her. After losing my boy there, I thought it would be too difficult to return. My family had moved and there were closer vets. I tried maybe 2 other vets whose answers I was not satisfied with. I knew my puppy well enough to tell she was not just being "dramatic" and took her to Care Animal Hospital. We saw Dr. McReynolds who examined my little girl and determined the pain was caused by another matter. We treated the other matter, and almost immediately she was doing much better. She is now 3 years old and happy as can be.
Was told to come by before 4 for quick, mandatory vaccinations for my dog before boarding tomorrow only to be turned down at 3:30 because "I should have come by before 3". This place has awful direction and organization.
I got a kitten for my Mom on mothers day since the loss of her cat that we put down here. The kitten git sick. She brought him here. They did an x-ray and said without surgery the outlook is grave. After figuring finances and that they didnt qualify for credit, They said to my distraught mother, when you figure out your finaces you can bring him back. No offer for payment arrangements. Mind you it was $2000.
My dogs have always had the top of the line care from Care Animal Hospital. The vets are competent, skilled, empathetic, and kind. My family used them since our first dog in 2003, through to his passing in 2014. Dr. Feltes helped our family though the two weeks of his decline until we lost him. She was always very professional and compassionate.
If I'm looking to pay their prices, I'll go to blue pearl and be given excellent care as well as dealing with the best doctors. (Care animal hospital refers patients and clients to blue pearl in the many instances they can't help anyway)
This is just a business. They dont care about animals.
I will not trust them with my dog for even the simplest vaccine administration now. You could go to banfield and get treated the same way and quality as here for MUCH CHEAPER.
